The Football Challenge Cup was both sponsored and presented by Thomas Youdan Esq. back in 1867. The competition pre-dates the FA Cup by a full four years and though, only played once, it is without doubt the forebearer of all modern cup tournament football that followed. Today, our aim is to promote the well-being of young people through sporting competition, cultural & heritage appreciation and education, in addition to providing marque teams and talented up-and-coming players with the opportunity to forge long lasting friendships and memories across many nationalities and cultures.
The tournament, in its fifth year, is held in Sheffield and features some of the top teams from across the world, including Europe, Asia and North America. The teams spend a week away from home at top class accommodation based in Sheffield. The competition aims to immerse young players into a real-life footballing environment.
